A family playing Treasure Hunt Newcastle together on Mother’s day

It’s that time of year again, looking for the perfect way to show your mum how great she is. Give her the perfect gift this year—an afternoon with you! Put the chocolates back on the shelf and add a Treasure Hunt Newcastle game to your basket.

Take your mum on an adventure this Mother’s day with a trip into town to play Treasure Hunt Newcastle. It’s a fantastic way to spend some quality time together, getting out the house and making memories. Gift vouchers are available too, so you can decide together when to go - get yours here.

“A great day out - wear trainers! We went at some pace - me, hubby and 2 boys (13 and 10) and still, with a short break for a slice of pizza in Grainger Market, and a drink at Pitcher & Piano on the Quayside, it still took us about 5 hours (only one Hint used!)

However, we had a great time, the kids stayed engaged for all of it… but beware! The clues are not easy! Brilliantly challenging though.”

It’s designed for adults, so you’ll have a laugh together (ages 8+ are welcome too if you want to make a family day of it).

You’ll have to work together and put your essential pirate skills to the test! Follow treasure maps, solve cryptic clues, and look carefully around the city to find the answers. It’s a great way to connect with each other and share in the thrill of the adventure.

Plenty of stops 🍺 ☕

Don’t worry, there’s plenty of time for stops along the way if Mum rebels! We’ve planned a carefully designed route that passes some of Newcastle’s best pubs and cafes so you won’t go thirsty.

You could celebrate completing Treasure Hunt Newcastle with a cocktail in Mother Mercy. Voted one of the top 50 cocktail bars in the UK, it offers intimate table service in a unique setting. We'd also recommend the Crown Posada. This lovely old pub oozes Victorian character and is nestled down by the quayside.

You’ll find some useful info for your voyage here.

Last minute? No problem! ⌛

What’s more, if you’re disorganised like me and you’re reading this on Sunday morning, no problem! You can book last minute (unlike all the restaurants which are now booked up 😬).

“We had a great time doing Treasure Hunt Newcastle! It was a really good length and took us all round the city, so it was a perfect way to orientate ourselves for the rest of the weekend. The clues were a good level of challenge, and there was always a helpful hint if we needed it! Plus plenty of great recommendations for places to stop for a well earned pint. Would highly recommend to anyone!”
