Three intrepid explorers embarking on Treasure Hunt Newcastle

Here’s to new adventures in 2025 with Treasure Hunt Newcastle! Are you ready to assemble your crew, get outside, and see Newcastle in a whole new way?

January might be a darker and colder month than most - but a smooth sea never made for a skillful sailor! Captain Bess has unearthed the hidden treasures of Newcastle and it’s down to you and your crew to solve the clues and complete the quest.

Why choose a treasure hunt this January?

Whether you’re looking to get active, give your mental health a boost, or simply try something new, Treasure Hunt Newcastle offers the perfect blend of fun, challenge, and exploration. The route around Newcastle is 2½ miles, making it ideal for a winter outing that gets you moving and keeps you entertained. The adventure starts at Grey's Monument.

How does it work? ☠️

It’s designed for adults, so you’ll have a laugh together. Crews can be any size, although it might be more fun to split into smaller groups and see who can be the first to solve the final clue! (8+ are welcome too if you want to make a family day of it).

Test your essential pirate skills: follow treasure maps, solve cryptic clues, and keep a keen eye on your surroundings to uncover the answers. Captain Bess, your feisty pirate leader, will guide you through the experience by sending clues and messages straight to your phones.

What makes us special?

“We had a great time doing Treasure Hunt Newcastle! It was a really good length and took us all round the city, so it was a perfect way to orientate ourselves for the rest of the weekend. The clues were a good level of challenge, and there was always a helpful hint if we needed it! Plus plenty of great recommendations for places to stop for a well earned pint. Would highly recommend to anyone!”
